Rugs only
What we wash, and what we send elsewhere.
Four jobs, all on rugs. If yours is something else, we say so in the first reply and name who to call.
Wool and oriental rugs
Hand-knotted and hand-tufted wool, runners and silk blends. Dusted both sides, washed by hand, dried flat.
Wool and oriental rugsPet stains and odor
Dye test, enzyme treatment through the pile, full wash. We tell you at inspection what we expect.
Pet stains and odorFringe and edges
Fringe washed and combed, edges checked and small repairs made. Larger repairs go to a restorer we name.
Fringe and edgesStorage and moth care
Wash, paper wrap and cedar, kept flat on a rack. A photograph goes in and one comes out.
Storage and moth careAntique and fragile rugs
Fine antique silk and rugs with rot we look at first. We may send you to a conservator.

Work we leave to someone else.
Wall-to-wall carpet
A carpet cleaner with truck-mounted equipment is the right call.
Upholstery
Sofas and chairs need a different kind of cleaner.
Mold and flood damage
A rug that has sat wet needs a restoration company, not a wash.
Not sure which one your rug is?
Send a photograph of the whole rug and the back. We'll tell you which job it is, or that it isn't ours.
