Fringe and edges
Fringe is the first place a rug looks worn.
Fringe takes the soil, the vacuum and the dog. Edges take the chair legs.
Every rug gets its fringe washed and combed straight. At inspection we photograph loose binding and frayed ends, and fix the small ones before the wash.

Questions about this job.
Can you whiten my fringe?
We wash it, and it usually looks brighter. Bleach weakens the threads, so we don't use it.
Who does the larger repairs?
A restorer we name on the estimate. You see their quote before anything starts.
Is the fringe part of the rug?
On a hand-knotted rug, yes: it is the ends of the warp threads. Cutting it off is not a repair.
Show us the edge.
Send a close photograph of the fringe or the worn edge and we'll say what it needs.
