Pet stains and odor

A dye test first, then the stain.

Urine goes through the pile to the foundation of a rug, so the treatment has to go through too.

We find every spot, test the dye, work an enzyme treatment in and let it sit, then wash and rinse the whole rug. After drying we check it again and send a photograph.

  • A look under ultraviolet light to find each spot

  • Dye test before any treatment

  • Enzyme treatment worked through the pile and left to sit

  • Full hand wash and rinse, then a second look when dry

Services

What to expect.

  • What is extra

    • A second treatment when the inspection says one pass won't do

    • Cleaning or replacing the rug pad

    • Rush return

  • Before pickup

    • Tell us where and how long ago

    • Blot, don't scrub, and don't use vinegar or bleach

    • Keep the pad with the rug if you can

  • What we cannot promise

    • That an old stain will lift: sun, bleach and time change dye

    • That a rug soaked many times has no trace left

    • To treat the floor under the rug

Questions about this job.

Will the smell come out?

Most of it, when the treatment reaches the foundation. Old, repeated accidents sometimes leave a trace. We tell you at inspection what we find and what we would do.

Can you treat the floor underneath?

No. We clean the rug and its pad. If urine has reached a subfloor, ask a flooring specialist.

Should my dog be home at pickup?

Please keep dogs in another room while we roll the rug. It's easier on them and on the rug.

Tell us what happened and when.

Send a photograph and a line on the accident. We'll write back with what we'd do.
